June 21, 2017: His Imperial Highness Prince Ermias Sahle-Selassie Haile-Selassie arrives in Canberra from Sydney aboard a private Gulfstream G4 provided for the Commemorative Visit by a supporter of the Crown.

His Excellency the Hon. Shane L Stone AC, GCHT, GCEL, PGDK, QC, and Mrs. Josephine G Stone AM, GCSE, with His Imperial Highness Prince Ermias at the Australian War Memorial. Shane Stone, one of Australia's most eminent political figures, was a key organizer of the Commemorative Tour, along with Mrs Stone, who is also a Trustee of the War Memorial.

Prince Ermias at one of three Melbourne Ethiopian Orthodox Churches visited on June 25, 2017. He also visited the Ethiopian community gathered at one of the Perth, Western Australia, Ethiopian Orthodox Churches. Prince Ermias also met with the New South Wales Ethiopian community, gathered at a major reception in his honor, the day he arrived in Australia, June 18, 2017, and with Ethiopian community members at other events in Canberra and Melbourne.

Mr and Mrs George and Jelica Bougias, who played an important role in supporting the Commemorative Visit, greet Prince Ermias as he stepped off his jet in Melbourne, with a traditional Orthodox Christian greeting for a visiting dignitary: bread and salt. Jelica Bougias, RML, is dressed in traditional Serbian attire.

The Community presented Prince Ermias with a beautiful plaque commemorating the visit.

 

Australia’s Minister for Defence Industry and Leader of the House of Representatives Chris Pyne talks with Prince Ermias at a ministerial reception Minister Pyne hosted in the Australian Parliament for the Prince. The event was also attended by the Minister of Defence, the Attorney-General, and other governmental leaders, on June 21, 2017. Prince Ermias also participated in a national television show as a guest of Minister Pyne and Opposition Defence Spokesman Richard Marles.

HIH Prince Ermias with Her Excellency Ambassador Tirfu Kidanemariam, the Ethiopian Ambassador to Australia, and the Crown’s Strategic Advisor, Gregory Copley, at a luncheon in the Australian Parliament hosted on June 21, 2017, to introduce Prince Ermias to a number of Government Ministers hosted by HE the Hon. Shane Stone, former head of Australia's Liberal Party. Amb. Tirfu also hosted a major reception and coffee ceremony for the Prince at the Ethiopian Embassy in Canberra.

Michael Jeffery, , AC, AO (mil.), CVO, GCEL, and Mrs Marlena Jeffery with Prince Ermias after the dinner the Jeffery’s hosted for the Prince at the Commonwealth Club in Canberra. Gregory Copley and Pamela von Gruber are in the left of the photograph. Gen. Jeffery and Prince Ermias discussed new approaches to land and water management and the prospect of Australian-Ethiopian cooperation in shared agricultural learning.
